About Student Visa
Studying in Canada requires two documentations: Temporary Resident Visa and Study Permit.
The study permit is recommended to apply three months in advance. Once the study permit expires, the student might face deportation issues. In the case of Temporary Resident Visa, as long as you do not exit Canada, you don’t have to renew temporarily.
If your study permit is almost expiring and you are facing a low grade, you should contact us as soon as possible for a consult to renew your study permit. In April 2015, immigration office proposed a DLI Portal system. In April 2016, the immigration office starts to request the post-secondary institutions to use this system to register students’ information. It took one year for all post-secondary institutions to register their students. In April 2017, the immigration office asks all students to fill out the students’ studying details. This provides those who take their studies seriously more accessibilities on one hand, and to encourage those who are not doing so well in school on the other. We do understand that for some people, although they take their studies seriously, due to other extraneous reasons, such as the language problem, caused their grades to be not so well. If you belong to this groups of people, you are more than welcome to contact us, and we will build a convincing plan to persuade the immigration officers to let you renew your permit. This allows you to successfully finish your studies in Canada.
You might be busy and forgot that your study permit has expired. If the expired time is less than 90 days, please contact us as soon as possible. The Canadian government is able to grant a restoration for those who hold a study permit which was expired for less than 90 days, but they do require a reasonable explanation along with a restoration fee. We would like to remind everyone to plan your permit renewal in advance.
